Sun 18 July 2-5pm, individual slots Mon 19 & Tues 20 July, Sharing Weds 21 July 8pm / £100
A high-speed, concentrated introduction to film making with puppets, exploring the unique possibilities of storytelling and magic-making in this form.
You’ll need: a puppet and a very short act with it you want to make a film of; a camera (most smartphones are more than adequate); a computer to edit and finish your piece.
We’ll cover the basics of filming, thinking like a film-maker, the power of editing, and adding sounds and effects.
On the Sunday afternoon we’ll cover the basics to get everyone started. Over the next couple of days everyone will have individual slots for troubleshooting and advice.
By Wednesday evening we’ll be sharing our masterpieces!
NB no experience of film-making is necessary; but you do need to be confident about basic file management, copying data from your camera to computer, and installing software. Contact us if you need advice about this in advance.
