‘DOING THIS COURSE HAS HAD A POSITIVE IMPACT ON EVERY ASPECT OF MY THEATRE MAKING’
‘THE CONTENT WAS SO WELL PLANNED AND DELIVERED AND THE EXERCISES INTERESTING AND RELEVANT. I REALLY FELT I DEVELOPED OVER THE DURATION’
Puppets have their own unique rules when it comes to developing stories. Knowing their secrets helps you to create imaginative, satisfying puppet scenes and stories. In this one day course, we’ll explore puppet principles in narratives, dig into visual approaches to storytelling and play together to unleash the stories hidden in your puppet character.
Whether its a figure you’ve always wanted to work with or a brand new character you’ve just made, or met, we’ll let the puppets do the talking to discover the power that puppets hold in proposing exciting scenes and moving stories. From circus to serious, we’ll devise and write some brand new material that was hidden in your puppets all along.
Led by Beccy Smith, dramaturg and formerly writing for Theatre tutor at Goldsmiths College London
