This course is for writers, director and performers, experienced or aspiring, who want to get to grips with the ways puppetry can animate their theatrical work. Approaching creativity through the act of writing – dialogue or scenarios – we’ll explore puppetry’s unique gifts and challenges in realising your ideas.
This 8-week programme combines insights and approaches from our popular Writing for Children’s Theatre and Writing for Puppetry courses and will support you to develop your own work for either childrens / family or adult theatre (or both). The programme combines theoretical frameworks, practical approaches to kickstart your writing and mentoring for your emerging ideas in a friendly, supportive environment.
Come and get inspired by puppetry, learn about the art form, hone new writing skills and see your ideas taking flight.
