’IT HAS BEEN GREAT TO LEARN AN EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUE THAT DOESN’T NEED SPECIALIST MATERIALS.’
‘THE TUITION HAS BEEN REALLY SUPPORTIVE, ENCOURAGING AND ENTHUSIASTIC. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.’
A course over eight evenings to make a cast of mini rod puppets and explore basic puppetry techniques to bring your creations to life. Transform a small suitcase into a puppet theatre and set for your little puppets and begin to devise a short performance based on your ideas and designs to present to family and friends.
Bring just ideas to the first session, polymer clay will be provided to make your first puppet, other making techniques will also be demonstrated to enable you to find the best method to suit your ideas.
The course will cover ideas and design through to completion of your puppets. Techniques include: polymer clay modeling, stitching, glueing, paper mache and painting. You will need to purchase a suitcase for your performance, Isobel will advise as the course progresses.
You will leave the course with ideas in puppet form, in suitcase! And making/manipulating techniques to transfer to your future puppet projects.
Led by acclaimed puppetry artist, coach and RCA Graduate, Isobel Smith
