Join award-winning Brazilian puppeteer and maker, Fagner Gastaldon of PuppetSoup, to create your very own characterised mask in this inspiring live online course.
You will learn to use everyday items to make a beautifully crafted mask and develop your making techniques to discover ways of building masks for performance or for fun!
This innovative mask making workshop was designed during Lockdown by Fagner Gastaldon to enable people of all abilities to make a mask at home, without the need of shopping for specialist items or buying expensive materials.
No highly specialist tools are required for this online workshop and all levels from complete beginners to professional makers are able to participate and achieve the creation of a brilliant mask to make a fantastic character.
This course allows you to make a uniquely crafted mask suitable for performances or as a wonderful gift or item to cherish.
Fagner Gastaldon began clowning and puppeteering for children in hospitals while studying a degree in psychology and decided then to pursue his passion for puppets full time. Since then Fagner has worked with many companies both in Brazil and the UK, toured internationally, and built, created and performed much of his own work. Fagner specialises in making puppets and performing Teatro Lambe Lambe (Puppet box theatre), glove puppetry and table top theatre as well as being an accomplished mask performer. He runs his own award-winning touring puppetry company Puppetsoup from Wales.
